East Baltimore Community Comes Together to Honor and Celebrate Retirement of Dedicated HEBCAC Leader

We recently had the privilege of hosting a retirement party that paid tribute to Jeff Thompson, HEBCAC’s former deputy director and dedicated community leader who committed 23 years to serving East Baltimore.

On May 25th, 2023 we gathered to honor Jeff and the mark that he left on HEBCAC and in our community. The atmosphere was filled with gratitude and admiration as friends, colleagues, family, and community members came together to celebrate his many years of service. As a testament to his lasting impact, we unveiled the sign for the courtyard at 1212 N. Wolfe Street, now known as The Jeff Thompson Courtyard in his honor. This beautifully transformed space serves as a reminder of his tireless efforts and the indelible mark he has left on HEBCAC and our community.

With heartfelt speeches, laughter, fond memories shared, and even a custom t-shirt courtesy of Ms. Janice Jacobs Hudson, the retirement party was a fitting tribute to an exceptional leader whose legacy will continue to inspire and uplift the work of HEBCAC in East Baltimore for years to come.
